Rutgers Handshake is the official career management platform for Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Managed by Career Exploration and Success, Rutgers Handshake provides students access to employment opportunities, career-related events, and appointment scheduling with a career advisor. While students already have access to Handshake via their NetID and password, staff and faculty have to request access to use the system.
For Rutgers Staff and Faculty:
The Office of Career Exploration and Success has two methods for campus partners to access Rutgers Handshake:
- Create a "Demo" Student Account (for most staff/faculty): Campus partners who work with students and/or alumni in an advising role can create a "demo" student account in order to receive career-related updates, view which employers are recruiting on campus, and share opportunities with students. Contact the CES career technology help desk at careers@echo.rutgers.edu to request a demo student Rutgers Handshake account. Please include your NetID in your email message.
- Request Administrative Access: For campus partners requesting to use Rutgers Handshake to manage their own advising appointments, professional events, interview schedules, or internship/co-op programs, please contact Barbara Thomson, Associate Director for Technology & Data Management, at thomson.barbara@rutgers.edu.
Please refer employers who want to post positions or recruit on campus to our employer relations team at recruiting@echo.rutgers.edu or 848-445-7287.
