Co-ops, like internships, provide students the opportunity to gain professional level experience while testing out career options and building skills/experience to be marketable for future employment and graduate school. Generally, co-ops last for more than one semester. Students might take classes in the fall and then work for the company during the spring semester. This rotation can sometimes go on for more than one year.
Students can earn academic credit through a co-op experience through the Rutgers Internship & Co-op Program.
